My new character

Just a few days and my school will continue again...!


Here is my late night inspiration for a character which came into my mind and I had to draw it! Need to draw more of her ~

Aand I had a raffle on my Deviantart page where I asked my watchers to give me their character and two random non living things. Then I raffled the character, and the things. So I ended up drawing a character for Pyttis, with a mug and cottoncandy! And I added some wind too.

 When my school starts, let's see if I get out my sketch book again ..

 

Finished new work - Unseen

I had this topic on DeviantArt, where I asked people to give me their character for a drawing which is not a dog / cat / human. Even though I had more than enough work things to draw and other things, I was just eager to draw something different and for someone. I have this little 'rule' for me, day time - is for important work drawings, but night time I can draw what I want. :3 so, I've already put this on my DeviantArt and Facebook art page but here it is for here too. The character is Berneri's Jokull.

What I have noticed is, drawing is so much easier and nicer when you decide your color palette Before drawing. For here too, I was thinking about the colors what I want to draw, looking for winter photographs, color palettes, etc. Then when I knew the colors, it was just easier to start. Some of you this might be like - of course - but for me, I haven't usually done it. But yeah, it's so much fun to draw when you get inspiration from colors.



Now I should get some sleep!

Still busy with my work related drawings, but here is one late night speedpaint ~

Mentally preparing myself for my 1-2 working months which includes a lot of drawing. And what would be better for that than 30min speedpainting just something what comes to your mind.

My dream last night

Näin unta vitivalkoisesta sokkelohuoneistosta, kuin valtava talo täynnä kapeita käytäviä ja lukuisia huoneita. En tiennyt minne mennä, mutta tiesin tarkalleen minkä näköistä hahmoa piti varoa, jonka saattoi nähdä kurkkivan kulmien takaa tai huoneista ovien raoista. En kuitenkaan ollut nähnyt sitä, sillä tämän hahmon näkeminen katsekontaktin kera tiesi varmaa kuolemaa:

I was walking in a pure white labyrinth, which was like a big house full of rooms and turns and corners with white walls and floors. I didn't know where to go, but I did know what I had to be aware of. I knew that somewhere in the labyrinth was a big black creature with big big staring eyes, and if I see that creature with eye contact - it would be the last thing that I see. 

Tähän hahmoon törmäämisen sijaan pitkin sokkeloa lojui mustia isoja karvakasoja, kuin vain säikäyttämässä hahmoon törmäämisestä

Insted of seeing this creature, there was laying around on the floors some black hair, just to scare me and reminding about the black creature being there.

Ainoa mitä muistin enää tarkasti, oli viimeinen huone ennen heräämistä. Olin päätynyt huoneeseen jonka ainoa oviaukko oli heikkoa heiluvaa kalteria, jonka toiselta puolelta luokseni yritti tunkeutua vesikauhuisen aggressiivinen koira,

Only thing what I could remember when I woke up was the last room where I was in, and there was an angry dog behind bars and trying to come to me. 

So that kind of dream!

Dream creatures

As I wrote to my DA account, "It was late night and I just wanted to doodle something without thinking and tried out different things at the same time. I should do doodle-things more often."

Also this ugly guy. Yes, it was ugly, in my dream. I saw a dream where there was a bath tub. In the bath there was swimming these things. Black and slimy. They were big like cats. Their eyes were open all the time, staring from the bath. I took one in my hands, it was slimy, cold, staring. Then I realized it died in my hands, still staring but its eyes looked dead. I put it back in the water but it didn't swim, it just started to sink.

Dream Delusions - Game project, coming soon!

Finally tomorrow we are having our games launch event, which is one of our big school projects - Dream Delusions game! I've been working on it by doing the logo for the game, big poster and package for it, and some early concept arts. It has been great! Now I can finally show you these pictures, and you can also find out more about the game from its own blog.

"What is Dream Delusions?

Dream Delusions is game project (2013-2014) for third-year students at Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. It’s a third person action game with a unique premise, created for the PC. Protect a young boy from creatures of the night as the boy’s cherished Teddy bear and survive through the night without the nightmares taking over.

Developed by 3D Animation and Visualisation students and first time this year in collaboration with programming and sound design students. The project takes place in Tikkurila, Vantaa.

During the ten week long course this group of 22 students must create a functioning game running on the Unity game engine for the PC, this year’s platform. The game’s concept, assets, development and management are all done by the students with as little help as possible from the teaching staff. The purpose of this course is to have the students learn more about working in a group and with a schedule as well as game development in general. It is also to provide them with future portfolio material.

The game will be playable at 10.30 AM on December 18th at a special launch event in Tikkurila. Everyone is invited to visit us and play the game for themselves. As a special treat, we’ve also added Oculus Rift virtual reality headset support for Dream Delusions. Oculus will be present  at our launch event and we want to invite everyone to experience this great new technology, especially with Dream Delusions."

Mushrooms and red pandas

Mähän olen piirtänyt vaikka mitä, mutta koulu on pitänyt kiireisenä. Koulussa menossa pari todella mielenkiintoista kurssia, toinen on Game Art kurssi, toinen projektikurssi yhteistyössä 3D opiskelijoiden kanssa jotka toteuttavat alusta asti pelin, ja saan toimia sen 2D artistina ~ tässä nyt vähän kaikenlaista tavaraa:

 Ja kuitteja.

 Myönnän kehitelleeni kokonaisen (koira)sarjakuvan idean, juonen, kohtauksia, henkilöitä.. en vain ole kehitellyt aikaa sen toteuttamista varten!

Kysymys teille

Hei lukijat! Tiedän että ihmiset ovat yleensä vähän laiskoja kommentoimaan/vastaamaan kysymyksiin (minäkin joskus), mutta mielessäni on silti ollut kysyä teiltä, mitä teitä kiinnostaisi/haluaisitte nähdä tässä blogissa? Olen nyt postaillut vähän sitä sun tätä, niin kuin tämän tarkoitus onkin - "everything what I do everyday with my pencil". Mutta olisi kuitenkin kivaa toteuttaa jokin teidän toive tai vain kuulla mielipiteitäkin. Tykkäätkö eniten katsella sarjakuvia strippejä/pidempiä, luonnoksia, otuksia, vai olisiko mielessäsi jotain minkä haluaisit että piirrän? Mitä tahansa ehdotattekin, niin lupaan pitää ne mielessäni kun joskus tulee pieniä vapaa-ajan hetkiä jolloin voisi piirtää jotakin vain. :) mutta rohkeasti vain kaikenlaiset ehdotukset ovat tervetulleita! Tämä tuli mieleen myös siitä, kun olen huomannut että lähes päivittäin ihmiset löytävät blogiini hakusanalla "Villikoira Varjo", esimerkkinä mikäli se on aihe mistä tykkäät, niin ehdota!

En nyt tähän hätään saanut uutta kuva-päivitettävää, joten saatte close-up siilin.

Summoner / Garuda drawing

I got ready my new drawing with Final Fantasy the Realm Reborn theme - this time with Summoner (my friends character Fiery Tail) and my vision how I would imagine Garuda egi look. I really enjoyed drawing the Garuda egi, and I'm also looking forward to how it will really look in the game.

Kurkistusikkunat vähän suuremmasta työstä mikä on tällä kertaa työn alla. Tiedostokoot ne kasvavat.. viime kerralla suurempaan piirustukseen meni noin 100 layeria. :)

Ennen nukkumaanmenoa tehty nopea "piirtojumppa". Melkoisen sammaloitunut tyyppi.
Punainen täplä esiintyy muuten jokaisessa näissä ~900 otuksessa, se oli jokin "yhdistävä tekijä" -keksintöni silloin pienenä.
