Improvement

I'm going to post this same thing from my Deviantart, so this is actually redrawn from my very old drawing when I actually started to draw humans .. A few days ago I found myself looking at my own veery old works. Even though it's stupid, I can't help myself getting so embarrased of my own old drawings. : D And then, with a slice of anguish I came across my old drawing 'A girl with purple eyes' .. and compared to my other old works, it had so so many views and Downloads..! Seems like I accidently had put it to be able to download. It had like 150 downloads and over 1000 watches. I was confused, why was that? Was it just because it was able to be downloaded? :D Okay but I was embarrased again. And then I got this idea, to try to redrawn that old piece which I used to like back in the days. I still haven't drawn humans much, but I guess there still is improvement! This was a nice practise, and I had so much fun drawing something personal after 'a long time', I've been so busy with school and works~ I hope you like it !

Study materials for schoolers project

Here is one of the projects which I was doing during summer for the Finnish Newspapers Association. There is three different sets for the classes 1-6. One for 1-2, second 3-4 and 5-6. Every set has its own dog character :3 Here you'll see the cover sheets, one page for each and my illustrations for them, I will upload all the pages later in my Portfolio site.

Koitan muistaa myös Suomen lukijoita välillä suomen kielellä! Eli nyt voin näyttää yhden viime kesänä tehdyistä töistäni Sanomalehtien Liitolle. Suunnittelin ja toteutin ulkoasut 1-6 luokkalaisille "tehtäväpasseiksi", joissa joka luokkaryhmällä on oma hahmonsa. Sain suunnitella hahmot itse, mikä oli kivaa! Eri eläinlajien pyörittelyn jälkeen päädyin koiriin, sillä ala-astelaisten on helppo samaistua niihin, monilla ehkä on oma koira, ja erilaisten hahmojen keksiminen onnistuu helposti. Tässä kansilehdet, yhdet sivut ja kuvitukset, laitan myöhemmin portfoliooni kaikki tehtäväsivutkin.

Announcements of the International Literacy Day illustrations

 Nyt sain aikaa päivittää nämä blogiinkin, eli tällä viikolla sanomalehdissä pyörii Kansainväliset lukutaitopäivän ilmoitukset kuvituksieni kera!

I posted these on my Facebook page already. So during this week there is going to be Announcements of the International Literacy Day over the Finnish newspapers - with my illustrations on them! It was very nice to work on this :) Looking forward to see these on paper

My new character

Just a few days and my school will continue again...!

Aand I had a raffle on my Deviantart page where I asked my watchers to give me their character and two random non living things. Then I raffled the character, and the things. So I ended up drawing a character for Pyttis, with a mug and cottoncandy! And I added some wind too.

 When my school starts, let's see if I get out my sketch book again ..

 

Painting - for me!

I got it ready! I needed a painting for my home decoration - so I made the painting!
I've been decorating with black & white & little bit of yellow. Also, I really like detailed lineart works of flowers etc, so I wanted to try add that style in it.
I'll show you this later again with frames and on my wall!

I might still change and fix something, since I might get critical before putting it on my wall. :P It's not easy to do a painting for your own wall for decoration, it can be the hardest thing to do. But I had a ready idea in my mind so it helped a lot.

1000 watchers on DeviantArt

Yesterday I hit 1000 watchers on DeviantArt so I draw this :) It's my own character called Lin, and also like me in animal form. You can read more about it on Deviantart link below if you are interested.

It was really enjoyable drawing on this, even though I continued on 5am. : ))

Finished new work - Unseen

I had this topic on DeviantArt, where I asked people to give me their character for a drawing which is not a dog / cat / human. Even though I had more than enough work things to draw and other things, I was just eager to draw something different and for someone. I have this little 'rule' for me, day time - is for important work drawings, but night time I can draw what I want. :3 so, I've already put this on my DeviantArt and Facebook art page but here it is for here too. The character is Berneri's Jokull.

What I have noticed is, drawing is so much easier and nicer when you decide your color palette Before drawing. For here too, I was thinking about the colors what I want to draw, looking for winter photographs, color palettes, etc. Then when I knew the colors, it was just easier to start. Some of you this might be like - of course - but for me, I haven't usually done it. But yeah, it's so much fun to draw when you get inspiration from colors.



Now I should get some sleep!

"Passion for dogs" illustration competition

Time flies!
Now I have only the last week left of my internship. As my work for them will get published, I can start to show them here also. I already have in line some commissions and things to draw after this week, but that's of course a good thing. :)

But what I can show you here is an illustration which I did for a Finnish illustration competition about "passion for dogs". Too bad I was really busy while joining on this, but I'm glad at least I was able to join and try! My Internship work

Finally I can show you something what I did during my internship ! This little booklet just got published so I can also show it here. Well of course I did a lot of different things and I'm still doing, but this one was one of the works which I did from planning to the final version and it got published not just on internet. It is an educational booklet which goes with the theme "newspaper in education" action turning 50 years. Here is some pictures of it and illustrations what I did for it.

My drawings lately

Here is some of my works what I've done and put them on Deviantart / my Facebook art page. I was thinking to update some sketch thing here but since I don't have much to show I'll just put these works here. After ~one week I will start a bit different period in my internship work place, and I will have a lot of work-things to draw ! So I might be more silent during that time (1-2 months) but we'll see how busy that will be. :) 

As you see I've been updating my blog's layot, and I'm not still satisfied with it..! So, I'll do some testing again when I have time for that.
 

 

Easter themed Finnish Art Raffle

"I did this painting for a one big Finnish "Art raffle event" where ~200 people draw each other's own character, but the thing is that no one knows who is going to draw for you."

 

 Illustration for a (card) Game project

" I've been working on this little by little on free days and evenings since I've been busy with work things. This is a commission work illustration for a game project which project names so far is going by "Skies Of Skull And Bone" . So yay, I got to do something a bit different again! I hope you like this after seeing so many cute cats and animals in my gallery hehe. At least for me working on this was a little exploration."

What if  - (Ginga fanart)

"I haven't drawn Ginga related full picture for a long time, until ! This was just a fast one.
I just saw one screenshot from Ginga series where was Gin with his brothers. Gin's brothers / sisters didn't really have a big role at all as you know. So what if Gin's brothers had been part of the story more ? This is a drawing about how it could look. Here Gin's siblings sees their brother's scars for the first time.
I made the brown one to be a female, she grew up to be strong with temperamental personality. She's freaking out about his brother's scars and accident, complaining and yealling not to get into troubles again. The white one, kind personality, is just happy to see his brother again and doing okay.
It was fun trying to imagine how they would look and be together.
